About Us

Mercury Bay Speedway is a independent speedway track and club located in Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula. 

We welcome visiting drivers and cars of all classes anytime, just get in contact with Percy Flutey and let him know you are coming. Our track is also an ideal test and tune track for any driver and team.

The track has been around since 1992, and attracted a lot of people and cars in its day. The club hosted big meetings, such as Easter champs, New Years champs, ANZAC champs, Waitangi Weekend champs. The club slowly came to a stand still around 2000, but has now started up again and is growing all the time. Mercury Bay Speedway used to run Production Saloons, Modifieds, Minisprints, Formula 500s, Stockcars, A Grade Stockcars, Streetstocks, 4 Cylinder Saloons, 6 Cylinder Saloons, Limited Saloons, Super Saloons, Ladies Saloons and Demolition Derbys. 

Classes now at Mercury Bay are Production Saloons, Saloons, Super Saloons and Ministocks. We also host Demolition Derbys throughout the season and host a few big meetings with visiting drivers and classes. Mercury Bay Speedway are pround to have a lot of local drivers racing Super Saloons, Saloons, Ministocks and Production Saloons out of town at SNZ tracks representing Mercury Bay Speedway.
